Germany offers insight into future trends at EIBTM

Barcelona. Visitors to the German Pavilion (number F 50) at EIBTM can unleash their inner Picasso. The German Convention Bureau (GCB) is launching a digital graffiti wall which serves as a vivid example of the “Future and Innovation” theme at the German exhibition booth. The wall enables visitors to get creative and design a work of art, as well as get to grips with an exciting new technology.

Matthias Schultze, Managing Director of the GCB, explains:
“One of the ways Germany remains at the forefront of the meetings industry is via extensive research into future trends. We’re set to share these insights at EIBTM, exploring in particular the trend of technology. According to our study “Meetings and Conventions 2030: A study of megatrends shaping our industry” more than 41.6 per cent of respondents identified technology in work and life to be very influential in the future of the meetings business. New forms of knowledge transfer will influence all phases of event planning”.

The German Convention Bureau teams with 56 German exhibitors to showcase Germany as a convention and meetings destination. These German Pavilion is part of the Foreign Trade Fair Participation Program by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in cooperation with AUMA, the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. The Ministry initiated this program to promote German foreign trade, giving companies with “made in Germany” products and services the opportunity to participate in international events and trade shows at lower cost.

Hosted buyers and individual buyers can attend destination presentations by the GCB and its partners. Nine presentations are being held during the three day event covering different topics such as German cities’ key industries, innovation & technology, green meetings and sustainability, new incentive & conference formats and future trends. The presentations will focus on different fields of competence of German cities and regions, as well as highlight interesting case studies on various topics, both offering synergy effects for international event planners.

The European Incentive and Business Travel Meeting exhibition (EIBTM) will be opening its doors at the “Fira Barcelona” from November 18th to 20th, 2014. With roughly 14,200 trade visitors, it is one of the most important international trade fairs of the meeting and incentive industry.
