From September 26th to 30th 2016, evaluators from Europe and beyond gathered together in Maastricht, Netherlands to attend the 12th European Evaluation Society (EES) Biennial Conference. This year’s conference topic was "Evaluation Futures in Europe and Beyond: Connectivity, Innovation and Use", focusing on the role of evaluation in a changing world. Almost 700 participants engaged in the conference during the three conference days, which included more than 70 panels, 100 sessions and 270 oral presentations.
Tereza Zvolská, Membership Manager of EES: “For me and my colleagues, the city of Maastricht was experienced very positively. The town itself is very citizen-friendly, it may be a standard of The Netherlands. Locals were super-helpful, I felt no language barrier and there was always someone I could ask for help. I always enjoyed the night walks to the place where we stayed and that gave me an impression, that Maastricht is a beautiful, tolerant and safe city.“
