Barbican Centre to Undergo Landmark Restoration

Planned upgrades include improved accessibility, enhanced sustainability features to meet net-zero commitments, and the restoration of iconic spaces such as the brutalist foyers and lakeside terrace. A fundraising campaign launching in 2025 will complement the City Corporation’s funding, enabling additional refurbishments and expanded community and educational initiatives. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with completion slated for the Barbican’s 50th anniversary in 2032.
