Bahrain has been selected to host the 93rd UFI Global Congress in 2026, the world's most influential annual gathering of the global exhibitions industry. The announcement was made during this year's UFI Congress in Hong Kong, where Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB) presented its plans for hosting the event.

The Kingdom of Bahrain utilized its participation in the 92nd UFI Global Congress in Hong Kong (November 19-22, 2025) to position itself as an emerging destination for international business events. Sara Ahmed Buhiji, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and Chairperson of Exhibition World Bahrain, emphasizes the significance of hosting the congress: „Hosting the next UFI Global Congress is both an honor and a testament to the Kingdom’s growing influence on the international stage.“

Strategic Development of the MICE Sector

Hosting the UFI Global Congress 2026 is part of Bahrain’s economic diversification strategy. During the four-day congress in Hong Kong, the EWB team established connections with event organizers, industry associations, and global partners. The goal is to establish Bahrain as a strategic gateway for international business events and a center of excellence for exhibitions and conferences.
