Dubai Airports said the new advisory appointments are intended to help DXB identify gaps, test assumptions and co-create practical solutions for travellers with disabilities. The panel combines lived experience, specialist knowledge and grassroots advocacy to inform improvements that go beyond hardware and focus on service design and passenger experience. Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, commented that true inclusion starts with listening to guests and co-designing changes.
Advisor profiles, DXB’s inclusion record and planned outcomes
The advisory team includes Jessica Smith, an award-winning disability inclusion consultant and former Paralympian who represented Australia at the 2004 Paralympic Games, as well as Fatma Al Jassim, an Emirati disability-rights pioneer. Team AngelWolf, a Dubai-based family foundation noted for inclusive initiatives and multiple Guinness World Records, is also part of the initiative.
DXB already holds the Certified Autism Center™ designation from IBCCES and has trained more than 53,000 employees in practices for hidden disabilities. The airport is also part of Dubai’s broader drive to become a disability-friendly city and was named the first Certified Autism Destination in the Eastern Hemisphere earlier this year. Dubai Airports said the advisors will work with operational teams and community stakeholders to recommend measurable improvements, staff training priorities and passenger-facing solutions.
