The EHA Board and Executive Office in The Hague seek an experienced, well-managed and creative PCO to deliver a competitive, efficiently run and commercially sound Congress. The successful organiser will work closely with EHA’s in-house Connect team. They will assume full responsibility for the planning, organisation and execution of the annual Congress, ensuring alignment with EHA’s standards for quality and profitability. Typically the Congress typically attracts around 17,000 delegates from multiple hematology specialties. It includes an exhibition in a hybrid in-person/online format and features roughly 13 parallel scientific sessions alongside workshops, sponsored sessions and an onsite social programme.
RFI / ITT timeline
An initial RFI was released on 26 September 2025 to identify qualified PCOs. RFI responses must be submitted by 10 October 2025. Selected respondents will receive an ITT in October 2025, with tender submissions and the closing date scheduled for October 2025, interviews of shortlisted tenderers in November 2025 and the final appointment announced in December 2025.
The appointed PCO will be contracted for at least three consecutive Congresses. He or she will be expected to source venues for editions beyond 2028 in collaboration with EHA. Venues for the 2027 and 2028 Congresses have already been secured by the association. Interested parties should prepare to demonstrate capacity for large-scale, hybrid event delivery, strong financial and project management and creativity in programme delivery. The ability to work as a partner to advance EHA’s mission in patient care, research and education in hematology is expected as well.
