As announced at IMEX America in Las Vegas, US companies now dominate the venue’s congress business. Global brands including Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, and Gartner, along with associations like the Linux Foundation (KubeCon), are increasingly choosing London for their European events.

The new expansion adds 270,000 sqft (25,000 sqm) to the venue. With a total of 1.3 million sqft (125,000 sqm), Excel is now Europe’s largest fully integrated convention and exhibition venue and ranks among America’s top 10 largest venues.

Record Bookings and Economic Impact

„Next year we are hosting 10 major international association congresses – the highest ever in a single year – generating upwards of $333m for London’s business economy,“ says James Rees, Executive Director at Excel London. The expansion is part of a wider $500m investment that includes enhanced F&B offerings, 5G and Wi-Fi infrastructure, and a new waterfront entertainment district.

The expansion prioritizes sustainability with 100% renewable energy usage, low-carbon materials, and solar panels. The new facilities feature natural daylight throughout, scenic London skyline views, and newly landscaped public realms. The development demonstrates Excel’s commitment to sustainable event management while offering state-of-the-art facilities for delegates.
