The Meetings Industry Association has refreshed its guidance for business meetings and events venues as they prepare for the requirements of Martyn’s Law. The update, created in partnership with GSA Global and ASG Rescue, is designed to support venues in strengthening safety procedures and anticipating responsibilities under the forthcoming Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Bill.

Structured roadmap for compliance

The revised roadmap sets out nine initial steps to help venues align with the evolving legislation. It includes updated information on current legal frameworks, the impact of the proposed requirements on venues of different sizes, and practical tools such as training checklists, risk assessment templates, and communication protocols. MIA Chief Executive Shonali Devereaux underlined the sector’s responsibility to keep safety a priority and confirmed that the association will continue to provide timely updates as the legislation develops.
