Marking its 18th edition from 10–12 February 2026, the event reflects the steady development of a boutique trade show alongside the broader progress of Slovenia’s meetings industry.

With 192 hosted buyers from 38 countries and 129 exhibitors representing 18 nations, Conventa continues to focus on a curated format. Around 34% of buyer applicants were accepted, while more than 70% of buyers participate for the first time. This approach aims to ensure a balanced mix of continuity and new business contacts, aligning with Slovenia’s positioning as a compact and focused destination.

Under the theme “The Art of Meetings,” this year’s programme highlighted event design, personal interaction and participant engagement. The event took place across nine venues in Ljubljana, including Grand Hotel Union Eurostars, Center Rog, Ljubljana Castle and Cankarjev dom, integrating different parts of the city into the overall experience.

Sustainability remained a visible component of the event concept. Initiatives such as SWITCH and the Green Information Point addressed environmental impact, while the “Walk and Talk” format made use of Ljubljana’s compact city layout to reduce transport needs. These measures are consistent with Slovenia’s positioning as a destination with a strong focus on environmental responsibility.

Industry research continues to indicate the relevance of live events for MICE sales, with more than 90% of professionals highlighting their importance. Slovenia’s size, accessibility and coordinated convention bureau structure provide a framework to benefit from this ongoing demand.

Overall, Conventa 2026 reinforces Slovenia’s strategy of competing through focused networking formats, manageable scale and a clearly defined regional profile within Europe.
