BESydney (BESydney) has concluded 2024 on a high as the team celebrates securing over 30 events in the final half of the year worth an estimated direct expenditure (DE) of almost $100 million for Sydney. This cements a pipeline to 2030 of 76 events attracting 111,000 delegates, generating an estimated $451 million in DE. Of the 76 pipeline events, 31 will be held in 2025. Key sectors represented include science, engineering, technology, and healthcare. Recent notable wins include the Asia-Pacific Hydrogen 2025 Summit, BNI Global Convention 2025, and IEEE Conference on Decision and Control 2028, collectively set to attract thousands of delegates and drive significant economic benefits for the region.
Infrastructure and Government Support Drive Growth
Sydney’s growth is bolstered by major infrastructure projects like the Western Sydney International Airport and redevelopment initiatives at Darling Harbour. These developments aim to enhance Sydney’s global competitiveness and its appeal to international event organizers.
