Sydney to host APAO Congress 2030

Sydney will host the 2030 Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress. Around 5,500 delegates are expected to attend the medical meeting.

The bid was secured by Business Events Sydney in partnership with The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. The congress will take place at the International Convention Centre Sydney. Medical professionals, researchers and clinicians from across the Asia Pacific will convene to discuss clinical innovation in blindness prevention and vision restoration. Hosting rights were awarded during the APAO Congress in Hong Kong.

International ophthalmology congress strengthens Sydney’s business events pipeline

The congress is expected to generate approximately 21 million US dollars in direct visitor expenditure for Sydney. The programme will highlight collaboration across the Asia Pacific region and support knowledge exchange in ophthalmology and related life sciences. BESydney CEO, Amanda Lampe said, “Sydney is a hub for health and research innovation, strengthened by expanding medical and health precincts and emerging industries across the life sciences.“
