Tokyo has won the bid to host the World Congress of Philosophy 2028, a globally renowned event held approximately every five years since its inception in 1900. The Congress, which fosters philosophical dialogue, international collaboration, and academic development, will see 3,500 international delegates join 500 domestic participants for discussions centered on contemporary and classical philosophical issues.

The Japan Federation of Philosophical Societies‚ compelling bid, themed „The Thinkers Choice,“ highlighted the unique strengths of Japan’s philosophical community and Tokyo’s excellence as a conference destination. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau provided essential support through financial subsidies and organizational resources, solidifying Tokyo’s position as the host city.
