As demand for immersive, experience-led meetings continues to rise, Transcend Cruises believes purpose-built river cruising will play an increasingly important role in the MICE landscape. Picture: Transcend Cruises

The signing was attended by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands. It took place during a Dutch Royal Trade Mission event held as part of the Royal Working Visit to the United States. The programme brought together Dutch maritime companies to present developments in shipbuilding, international cooperation and export. Transcend Cruises and Den Breejen Shipyard participated to showcase their ongoing partnership within the Dutch maritime sector.

The new vessels, Create and Engage, will be built at Den Breejen Shipyard in Hardinxveld-Giessendam in the Netherlands. Delivery of Create is scheduled for October 2027, while Engage is expected to enter service in the first quarter of 2028. According to the companies, the ships are being developed exclusively for the global group travel market and are designed to support flexible and customised travel programmes. The vessels are also intended for meetings, incentive programmes, corporate events and other group-based formats requiring adaptable onboard event infrastructure.
