The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre), Malaysia’s premier award-winning purpose-built venue, is celebrating its 14th year at AIME (Asia Pacific Incentives Meetings Event) 2023 following a strong bounce back year in 2022. Last year saw the venue achieve 40% more than its target with the successful hosting of close to 1,350 events that welcomed over 750,000 delegates, and undertake a large number of sustainability projects which have impacts across all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and 119 (70%) of the 169 SDG targets.
According to Alan Pryor, the Centre’s General Manager, “We are delighted to be back at AIME, it’s always a great way to kick off the new year, especially after the positive bounce-back of the Malaysian business events industry we witnessed last year, which reinforces our attractive destination proposition. AIME provides an ideal platform to engage with clients, many of whom, are Australian-based and have continued to return to the Centre for many years. Australia continues to be an important market for us and we are extremely pleased to have recently been selected as the venue of choice to once again host the 14th Australia Day celebration with the Australian High Commission Malaysia.”
Pryor added, “We are a proud member of the ASM Global family, which is well represented in Australia by its world-class facilities. We often collaborate with our sister venues to share knowledge, promotional activities and best practice models, which provides us with a more in-depth understanding of the Australian market. This allows our team to personalise our end-to-end solutions to better meet the needs of Australia-based clients and Malaysia-based Australian companies.”
In line with this personalisation, the Centre’s team now offers full event services with end-to-end solutions from planning to production, and also recently enhanced its corporate offerings, including the Daily Conference Packages and Meeting Solution Packages. These packages which have been optimised to create unique experiences for guests and peace of mind for event organisers. These new packages provide the perfect opportunity for new and repeat clients to rediscover the Centre and Malaysia’s famed hospitality.
As part of the enhancement, the Centre’s award-winning culinary team has revamped their menus with creative cuisine that distinctively presents ‘Malaysia on a plate’, while catering to different palates from around the world. Designed to create personal connections with diners through a unique fusion of Malaysia’s multicultural cuisine and international flavours.
