Doha. Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority announced that Qatar will host two major meetings of the United Nation World Tourism Organization in April. The Qatar Summit on Addressing the Human Resource Challenge for Tourism, will be held on April 21st and 22nd, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
In addition, the 32nd Commission for the Middle East of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, will take place on April 23rd. The forum will include a range of 250 guests including 30 international speakers from the professional, institutional and academic parts of the tourism sector, together with the secretary general of UNWTO, Mr Taleb Rifai, and four ministers of Tourism, from Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia and Syria.
Mr Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, declared: “Our two important meetings are part of UNWTO’s roadmap for recovery for the tourism industry, to help not only the tourism industry, but the global economy. Tourism is the largest employment sector in the world, with 950 million workers, playing a major role in fighting poverty. We would like to become an active member of UNWTO, and support all their salutary programmes.”
