BCD Meetings & Events (BCD M&E) has released its 2024 Global Sustainability Guide, which provides comprehensive insights into sustainable practices within the meetings and events industry. The guide addresses the challenges and opportunities faced by planners, suppliers, vendors, and destinations in adopting sustainable methods.

“The scale of this challenge can, at times, be overwhelming”

Bruce Morgan, Global President of BCD M&E, highlighted the critical need for accelerated sustainability initiatives in response to climate change concerns and increasingly stringent carbon emission regulations: “The scale of this challenge can, at times, be overwhelming. By thinking forward and embracing the myriad of best practices available to our industry, we not only mitigate risks but also unlock significant opportunities for positive change.”

The guide addresses a range of sustainability challenges, including costs, travel, and political factors, and offers practical solutions for organising sustainable events. Furthermore, it covers broader sustainability topics such as diversity, equity, inclusion (DE&I), and health and wellbeing.
