BESarawak will offer the internationally recognised SEPC programme to industry professionals in Sarawak for the first time. The collaboration with the Events Industry Council is intended to support professional development and promote internationally recognised sustainability practices across the local business events ecosystem. The agreement, signed during IMEX Frankfurt 2026, forms part of BESarawak’s long-term strategy to strengthen industry capabilities and support sustainable growth.
SEPC programme expands sustainability training for event professionals
The SEPC programme provides training in sustainable event planning, responsible business practices, accessibility, supply chain management, social impact, measurement and reporting. By making the certification available locally, BESarawak aims to equip event professionals with practical knowledge to address evolving sustainability requirements in the global meetings and events sector. The initiative also supports Sarawak’s broader development objectives by strengthening industry skills and encouraging the adoption of internationally recognised sustainability standards.
