Brisbane has secured the Annual Meeting of the International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery in 2028. The conference will focus on trauma and injury care in regional and remote communities.

CAOS 2028 will take place at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. The four day program will bring together international surgeons and researchers to discuss surgical innovation, trauma care, and remote patient management with a focus on computer assisted surgery and telehealth.

International orthopaedic conference in Brisbane

The conference will highlight Australia’s early adoption of computer assisted orthopaedic technologies and Queensland’s experience in telehealth enabled care. The successful bid was led by Professor Michael Schuetz in partnership with the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, with support from Tourism and Events Queensland and the Brisbane Economic Development Agency. CAOS 2028 is expected to contribute to knowledge exchange, workforce development, and international collaboration in orthopaedic care.
