Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Belgium is organising EFSMI 2010, the 1st ‘European Forum on Sustainability in the Meetings Industry’, on 27 and 28 June. The host city is the green world heritage site of Bruges.
EFSMI wants to provide information to professionals from the meetings industry and raise awareness on how to organise things differently. The forum takes the concept of “green events” to a higher level. During the programme, we will not only map out the basic principles of socially responsible enterprise; concrete tools for economising will also be illustrated with the help of concrete case studies. It is the perfect opportunity to learn, exchange experiences and network. The forum itself will be a model for sustainable meeting.
The concept was conceived by Charles-Eric Vilain XIIII. “The forum wants to inform experts from the sector and encourage them to be aware of their impact on the environment and local communities”, he says. “It is the first time that all European MPI chapters are bundling their powers for a shared event.”
