Düsseldorf. With a new date and completely revamped concept, which now integrates meetings, the leading German fair for business travel will be known as the Business Travel & Meetings Show (BTMS) in future. “This is a result of the increasing role the show’s buying audience plays in either booking venues, managing meeting spend or setting policies and budgets as well as the diversification of the show’s travel exhibitors into the MICE market”, explains Mike Sherrard, Managing Director of the Centaur Travel Group, which organises the event. BTMS will take place in Düsseldorf on 13 and 14 April 2011. Sherrard adds: “The name change is an evolution reflecting the convergence of the business travel and meetings industries. Exhibition Manager Calli Travlos explains: “BTMS distinguishes itself from other MICE shows by virtue of the specialised audience. BTMS is the only show in the industry with a specialised Travel Manager audience that are looking at creating a meetings policy. This way we can hopefully attract suppliers looking for a different audience to the big MICE shows”.
