Established. From 19 to 21 November 2019, the 32nd edition of IBTM World will attract over 15,000 MICE experts from all over the world to Fira Gran Via in Barcelona. Apart from opportunities to talk business, there will be fresh inspiration from speakers and knowledge forums.

The keynote by British cave diver John Volanthen will be one of the highlights. In 2018, he played a crucial role in rescuing 12 members of the Thai youth football team when it became trapped in the Tham Luang Cave. As part of the Knowledge Programme, Volanthen will discuss managing risks and keeping calm in a crisis. “Not only is his story inspiring and uplifting, but his experience can be related to so many different situations and we can apply his lessons in keeping calm and preparing well, to our everyday lives,” says IBTM World Event Director David Thompson.

The new Accelerate area also promises to offer exciting content. Here you will find interactive talk sessions and lectures dealing with the future of the industry. Shocklogic CEO John Martinez will talk about how leaders can inspire their teams. Alessia Di Raimondo and Giovanna Lucherini from Napoli Convention Bureau will share insights on successful influencer marketing. “How to travel with purpose” is the title of a lecture by Hilton Italy Sales Director Carole Alberti. She raises the important question: How can the meetings industry be a responsible environmental steward? Not only this session will offer visitors at IBTM World inspiring talks and food for thought.
