EURO 2008. On 16 May 2008 national coach Joachim Löw announced the set-up of the national team for EURO 2008. The German Football Association (DFB) carefully chose glass panorama lounge 2962: It marks the border with Austria and offers views of Switzerland. “It’s an honour that the kick-off event of this hopefully successful European Cup is taking place on the roof of Germany,” says Eva-Maria Greimel, press officer of Bayerische Zugspitzbahn Bergbahn AG. “This emphasises our competence as a meeting venue.” The panorama lounge at an altitude of just under 3,000 metres can accommodate 200 people, with three further rooms for 90, 104 and 173 people, and a terrace for 600. www.zugspitze.de
