The new Europauditorium in Bologna was inaugurated on 20 September, with an increased number of seats from 1,340 to 1,800, improved acoustics, and optimized lighting. The reconstruction was part of a broader development plan for the congresses and exhibitions industry. The plenary hall of Bologna Congress Center is now one of the top five largest halls in Italy.

The overall project plans to renovate the entire fairground. The works will start on pavilions 29 and 30, continuing with the construction of new ones, which will help strengthen the positioning of BolognaFiere at an international level. The project also aims to expand the facilities capability, making it possible to host events with over 5,000 participants.
