EMECA, ICCA and UFI have formalised their collaboration under the European Events and Exhibition Industry Alliance. The expanded platform will represent the broader business events sector at EU level.

Three international industry associations have signed an agreement to align their European advocacy efforts under a single structure. The European Events and Exhibition Industry Alliance builds on the existing European Exhibition Industry Alliance, originally founded by EMECA and UFI in 2012. With the inclusion of ICCA, the alliance now extends its scope to cover exhibitions, meetings, conferences and congresses across Europe.

Expanded mandate for representation of the business events sector

The alliance will act as a joint platform to monitor policy developments, engage with decision-makers and advocate for industry interests. Current management structures remain in place, with operational responsibilities continuing under EMECA, while strategic direction will be defined collaboratively by all three organisations. This expansion comes amid changing global trade conditions and geopolitical uncertainty. Participating organisations highlight the need for coordinated advocacy to ensure stable and fair operating conditions in Europe.
