The Events Industry Council (EIC) has appointed Augustine (Gus) Chijioke as Director of Certification & Education. The EIC and it‘s more than 30 member organisations promote standards and professionalism in the events industry with the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) programme and signature programme activities.

Gus’s remit for EIC includes directing the CMP and CMP-HC credentialing programme – recognised globally as the badge of excellence in the events industry, to ensure that the examination programme continues to adhere to the highest test development and administration standards, according to EIC.

Previously, Augustine Chijioke was Director, Membership & Certification at Capital Association Management, where he was responsible for the management of several association certification boards (AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), Energy Management Association (EMA), & Associated Air Balance Council (AABC), and served as the program and project manager on various initiatives.

Gus has also held the positions of Manager, Database & Membership Operations Manager and Recertification & Health-System Specialist at the American Pharmacists Association (APhA).
