Recruitment. The Polish city of Gdansk is to involve volunteers to help in organizing large public events, such as conferences or festivals. Thus the the Gdansk Convention Bureau and the municipality want to create the best atmosphere for hosting events in the city at the Baltic. According to Gdansk Convention Bureau (GCB) the organization Gdańscy Akcjonariusze received funding in the amount of 35.000 Euro from Civil Initiatives Fund in order to continue the project “Gdanscy Akcjonariusze – konsekwentnie do celu”.
The project will be continued by Gdańsk Convention Bureau starting from the beginning of August 2010 till the end of 2011. While the project GCB is accompanied by its partner Regional Volunteer Centre in Gdansk (Regionalne Centrum Wolontariatu w Gdansku). Till now the organization Gdanscy Akcjonariusze helped in many events eg.: All About Freedom Festival, the Globe Forum, Streetwaves, th, UNICA Independent Film Festival, 20 years Local Government in Gdansk, CARDIFF 2010. Additional funding helps to continue the project, which will hopefully increase number of events held in Gdansk.
