Abu Dhabi. With less than three months to go GIBTM – the Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition – has attracted some of the world’s leading global hotel groups. The event takes place in Abu Dhabi from 31st March – 2nd April 2009.
Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts, Hilton International, Jumeirah, Rotana Hotels and Resorts, Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), Marriott Hotels International and Leading Hotels of the World have all recognized the importance GIBTM plays in maintaining, developing and attracting regional and international business by signing up to participate.
Thorsten Meir, Managing Director, Worldwide Leading Group Sales, says: “Leading Group Sales is a long standing supporter of RTE’s meetings industry shows and we strongly believe that GIBTM will continue its successful development. It is an ideal mixture of a region/destination which is more and more requested for meetings by buyers both internationally and from the region. We have increased our stand compared to previous years as more of our hotels followed our recommendation to participate. With RTE’s classical and proven concept of carefully qualifying buyers for pre-scheduled appointments we are looking forward to a successful show.”
Commenting on GIBTM’s location in Abu Dhabi and its importance to the Region, Mr. Selim El Zyr, President & CEO of Rotana said: “We are very pleased that Abu Dhabi is hosting an important exhibition such as GIBTM, which will hugely assist in developing MICE tourism. We have always been very active with the promotion of our MICE properties and our participation at GIBTM will assist us in further developing this sector and showcasing our products and offerings.”
Graeme Barnett, Event Director observes: ‘Now in its third year, GIBTM is gaining a reputation, as EIBTM has achieved in Europe, in delivering an event that successfully matches exhibitors with Hosted Buyers and visitors. The best business, best professional education and best networking message is making its mark in a region that is recognising the importance and value of the meetings, or MICE industry as it is often referred in the region.” www.gibtm.com
