Dallas. “More than a majority (59 percent) of past and (65 percent) of future virtual event organizers say their virtual events are affiliated with a physical event,” according to the Virtual Event Study, the latest publication from the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).
In collaboration with the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), relate and Tagoras, IAEE funded the study that captures baseline data on the extent of adoption of and future plans to hold virtual events, details on past and future content of virtual events, expectations and outcomes of those held in the past as well as reasons why some organizations have no plans to offer virtual events in the near term.
“This study provides useful insights for organizations that are actively running virtual events as well as for those considering launching one,” CEIR Research Director Nancy Drapeau, PRC comments. “A lot of experimentation is happening in this area. Content and the business model for virtual events are evolving. At the same time, the reason for launching a virtual event is consistent; more than eight out of 10 past and future virtual event organizers are striving to reach a larger audience.”
IAEE’s Virtual Event Study is now available free to IAEE members and costs $295 to non-members. Click here to download the study or visit www.tradeshowstore.com.
