Registration is now open for the next edition of IMEX America, the trade show in Las Vegas for the global business events industry, taking place from October 8-10, 2024. This year’s show will address several significant market influences, including changing attendee behaviors, ongoing budgetary constraints, and technology investment.
A report from Convene shows that meetings and events held from Tuesday to Thursday generate nearly 80% of their revenue, significantly impacting planners with tight budgets. IMEX America will feature a Business Practices education track to address these and other challenges.
Practical tech support at IMEX America
The role of technology in enhancing event design and attendee experience is growing, with a recent Northstar/Cvent Meetings survey showing 42% of planners have increased their spending on event technology. IMEX America will provide practical tech support, one-on-one consultations, and learning sessions on AI, data, and future innovations.
Exhibitor interest is high, particularly from North and South America, and global hotel groups. Notable industry partners like Google Xi and Encore will return with new initiatives. Last year, the show attracted over 3,400 exhibiting companies from more than 150 countries and over 5,300 buyers. This year’s focus, encapsulated in the IMEX Impact Talking Point, is to equip planners with the tools, knowledge, and contacts to create impactful events.
Tagline: “Let’s Go!”
The show’s tagline, “Let’s Go!”, invites the industry, including innovators and thought-leaders, to gather in Las Vegas to boost their businesses and communities.
“We seek out the industry experts, the most dynamic partners and the most engaging speakers on the most relevant topics – and bring them all together in one place, for one high-value week. Our rallying cry to our global events community – whether seasoned professionals or new faces is – let’s go! It urges people to put themselves in the mix of our live event to intentionally leverage the multitude of possibilities they’ll only discover when they show up and take part,” says IMEX CEO Carina Bauer.
