Istanbul CVB & Istanbul Technical University (ITU) won the 10th International Conference on Fibre-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composites in Civil Engineering (CICE) for 2020.
With membership representing academia and industry from 34 countries on six continents, the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC) is an organisation dedicated to the use of fibre-reinforced composite materials (FRP) in Civil infrastructure. CICE 2020 aims to provide an international forum for engineers, researchers, and practitioners in the field of FRP composites in civil engineering, to exchange and discuss recent advances and future perspectives. CICE 2020 will be chaired by Prof. Alper Ilki (ITU) and will now be held in Istanbul.
General Manager of Istanbul CVB, Ms. Ozbuk adds: ‘‘On behalf of Istanbul, we’re very pleased to announce another business win for upcoming years. Istanbul’s 55 universities and 5 techo-parks give a clue to Istanbul being a hub of learning, inspiration and innovation, perfectly in line with the philosophy of meetings and events’’.
The structural use of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites in civil engineering, has increased over the last two decades, particularly, for the strengthening of existing structures but also for the construction of new structures.
