Jordan. Following the arrival to our country Jordan, and upon your unique experience floating on the heavy waters of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, 400 meters below sea level, our off road “adventure” will begin. With a maximum of 4 guests in each 4×4 (group max. 50), we will make our way up to Mount Nebo, using some soft off road combined with some winding tarmac, usually used by the Jordan Rally as one of its special stages. Upon arrival at Mount Nebo, the point where Moses pointed out the Holy Land to his people, you will be captured by the breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley, the River Jordan as well as the Dead Sea. On a clear day the mountains of Old Jerusalem can be viewed in the background. Following the Mount Nebo visit, we will depart as a convoy to Madaba. After our walk through the streets of this mosaic city we will enjoy a delicious (mezza) meal at a picturesque local restaurant, , meaning my grand parents’ neighborhood.Ready now for the rest of the trip, we will be back to our 4×4’s making our way towards Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world, driving through the most scenic roots and through the Mujib Valley, where we will experience some off road driving and climb on to the other side of the Valley. While enjoying the stunning views of the area, we may also encounter some wild life e.g. flocks of partridges or if very lucky an Ibex or two. If we wish we can also use the normal winding tarmac paved road ending at Petra!
The following day, we will spend most of the morning exploring this wonder of the world, through the guidance of our knowledgeable guides, who will take us through this lost Nabataean City and tell the story of “every stone”.
After lunch, it will be back to the 4×4’s and on the way to Wadi Rum. There, we will have the chance to experience some skilled driving on the soft sand, and later on continue our drive through the moon like desert, home of E.T. Lawrence of Arabia, where you will have the chance to climb a “small mountain” and slide from the other side on the soft sand. We can end the day, with either a glass of local wine, or Arak (local Anis drink) while watching the amazing sunset over the sand dunes in this mystic set up.
Our “adventure through the magic wonders of Jordan” will end the following day in Aqaba, after a convoy drive. Through the back off road leading on to a tarmac one, we will arrive to this beautiful city on the Red Sea. Now sitting under the starred sky, on an open terrace by the Royal yacht club enjoying a mouth-watering meal, lets cheer to the beauty that our eyes have experienced over the past couple of days, and to the many more tales that Jordan has to reveal next time you are here.
