From 19 August, Legends Global will take responsibility for the full commercial, hospitality and operational activity at the arena. The agreement covers matchday operations for the newly promoted Premier League club, as well as the conference and events business, premium hospitality and retail.

£15 Million Investment Programme

Of the £15 million earmarked over three years, around £2.5 million has already been committed to deliver immediate improvements. Funding will go towards modernising food and beverage areas, introducing self-service technology, upgrading premium spaces and enhancing wider venue infrastructure. The investment is designed to improve operations across both football matchdays and non-sporting events.

Conferences and Events Growth

A stated objective of the partnership is to build on the arena’s existing conference and events business. Legends Global plans to leverage its international network to attract a wider range of conferences, exhibitions and large-scale events to Coventry, positioning the arena more firmly as a destination for business events.

New Food and Beverage Concepts

On the hospitality side, Legends Global is introducing a collaboration with Simon Rogan’s Umbel Restaurant Group. A “mini residency” called The Engine Room will offer menus developed with seasonal ingredients, with input from chefs including Great British Menu’s Oli Marlow. The concept follows a similar model already in place at AO Arena in Manchester.

Additionally, a new dining concept called The Amp Bar & Grill and a reimagined Board Room for premium guests are planned. In general catering, new grab-and-go options and a greater emphasis on local suppliers will broaden the food and drink offer across the venue.

Premium Sales and Hospitality Strategy

Legends Global’s sales team has also secured a long-term agreement to drive premium hospitality and VIP sales strategy across the venue. The team will manage seasonal and matchday hospitality sales, inventory optimisation and VIP delivery. According to the announcement, seasonal memberships have already sold out, with a limited number of match-by-match packages still available.

Strategic Ambitions for Coventry

Doug King, Owner and Executive Chairman of Coventry City, framed the partnership in broader terms: “Our ambition extends far beyond what happens on the pitch. Together with Legends Global, we are making a significant investment in the future of this venue and transforming the experience for everyone who comes through its doors. We want to attract the world’s best talent both on and off the pitch and establish Coventry as a leading destination for sport, music, exhibitions, conferences and hospitality, 365 days a year.”

Chris Bray, Legends Global’s President for Europe, added: “This is about bringing real transformation to both the club and the arena – more phenomenal live entertainment content, elevated food and drink, new premium spaces and innovative partnerships that are genuinely unique.”
