A new guide which will showcase London’s credentials for medical meetings has been at IBTM World.
The booklet was created by London & Partners, the official promotional company and convention bureau for the city, after gathering sector insight which showed event planners would benefit from the new guide while working on corporate medical meetings.
Deborah Kelly, Head of UK Sales at London & Partners, said: “London has proved a huge draw for medical congresses in recent years. This new guide details London’s credentials for corporate life sciences meetings and gives planners the practical information they need to help unlock the city.”
The Greater South East of England is home to 2,400 life sciences companies, 19 out of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies and several research centres, such as the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, the Alan Turing Institute and the recently launched Francis Crick Institute. This expertise means the city provides planners with an existing pool of attendees and expert speakers to draw from, while also offering networking opportunities. London also counts venues and hotels which are compliant with the ABPI Code of Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry. The guide will not only showcase the capital’s selling points, but also outline relevant partner venues and hotels.
