The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is gearing up to host its annual event, the Malaysia Business Events Week 2023 (MBEW 2023), for the eighth consecutive year. Set to take place from August 21 to August 26, the event will unfold at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Under the theme “Riding the Waves”, MBEW 2023 has been thoughtfully conceptualized to foster a sense of regional unity and collaboration. The event is set to showcase business events as not just mere gatherings, but as catalysts that initiate a cascade of positive impacts on the sustainable socio-economic growth of Southeast Asia.
The official inauguration of MBEW 2023 will be carried out by YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture (MOTAC). The event is said to draw participation from a diverse spectrum of industry stakeholders, with an estimated attendance of around 400 individuals. These attendees will represent various sectors, including association management companies, professional congress and exhibition organizers, and event management firms, among others. The event will also feature a lineup of panel speakers consisting of both local and international experts.
Mr. Zain Azrai Rashid, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB: “This flagship event stands as a testament to our nation’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration in the world of business events. This year, we are proud to go big and bold for the industry as we introduce our line-up of programmes which will certainly provide industry players with fresh ideas and perspectives to further enhance their businesses.”
The event is structured to offer an array of activities, ranging from topic discussions and interactive workshops to comprehensive training sessions and forums. Among the key highlights is the unveiling of MyCEB’s latest support program, designed to attract more international business events to Malaysia.
Furthermore, MyCEB will introduce the BE Exchange (Business-to-Business) session, dedicated to discussing the International Journal of Business Events and Legacies, as well as the Business Events National Challenge 2023, designed to nurture future industry leaders. Beyond business, MBEW is actively giving back to the community through MyCSR initiatives for a tree planting activity and blood donation drive.
