Bonn. The annexe of the International Congress Centre Bundeshaus Bonn (IKBB) will open in mid-2009. The new building was christened World Conference Centre Bonn at the cornerstone ceremony. The 3,500-sqm congress centre will accommodate up to 5,000 people, with the great hall offering capacities for 3,000 in theatre seating. Another 830 seats can be added by connecting a smaller hall. The new building will have four additional meeting rooms with capacities for 345 to 600 people. The new complex will feature an underground connection with the existing IKBB building. “Bonn and the region have great potential as a congress destination. And as a UN city with a great infrastructure and central location, Bonn is perfectly equipped to expand its meetings business,” says Dr. Michael Auracher, General Manager Sales & Marketing. Plans were therefore also targeted to meet UN needs. www.smi-hyundai-gmbh.de
