Construction is well underway on the Bruges Meeting and Convention Centre (BMCC) in the Beursplein. Recently a tree was placed atop the new building to celebrate the topping-out.

The completion of the building is scheduled for the autumn 2021 and the BMCC will be up and running by January 2022, according to the City of Bruges. Currently the interior works are being carried out. “We are already receiving a lot of requests from interested event organisers,” says Sarah Cornand, director of the BMCC.

To celebrate this milestone, the City of Bruges made a video giving a guided tour of the building. The 3.30 minute video can be watched here. In addition, the new website of the Bruges Meeting and Convention Centre was launched bmccbruges.com

The new Bruges Meeting and Convention Centre (BMCC) is located within walking distance from ‘t Zand square, ten minutes from the Bruges railway station, which is an 80-minute train ride from Brussels Airport. Events, concerts and trade fairs can be organized on the 4,500 m² ground floor of the BMCC, while the upper floors are suited for the organization of conferences. The upper floors can host meetings and conferences of 10 to 514 participants.

The building provides a plenary room with a retractable platform seating up to 514 people, a spacious foyer, poster areas, twelve break-out rooms and a catering area on the top floor offering views of Bruges’ city centre.
