Nuremberg: Becoming an international brand for conferences

Outlook. The NürnbergMesse Group is concluding the turbulent 2011 business year with a turnover of 165 million Euro. For the coming financial year, 2012, the Nuremberg company is striving for new record results in the areas of turnover and profit. The company is about to embark on an extremely strong trade fair year with the fairs in Nuremberg and the subsidiaries in Brazil, China and North America. Within the NürnbergMesse Group turnover is therefore once again set to climb above 200 million Euro.
2011 can best be described as “slightly cloudy with sunny spells”, said Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, the new Managing Directors at NürnbergMesse, in summarizing the past 12 months“. The Nuremberg company is achieving an approximately 25 per cent better result than was originally posted in the economic plan. The 172 trade fairs, congresses, public events and company events within the NürnbergMesse Group portfolio resulted in figures for 2011 as follows: 25,700 exhibitors coupled with net exhibition space of 755,800 m² and 1.12 million visitors “However, we are particularly proud of an exceptionally high international share”, says a delighted Ottmann. Turnover and revenue are not only to be increased in the trade fair sector, Fleck and Ottmann also want to give the congress business a big boost. “The aim is for Nuremberg to also become a brand in international congress business”, they both agree.
