Malaysia: Business travelling gets easier

Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) applauds the government’s decision on the ease of restriction to international travellers effective 1 May 2022.

Due to Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), the announcement of the Malaysian government on the ease of restriction to international travellers marks another significant breakthrough for business travelling.

The new measures that benefit the international business events visitors are:

  • Covid-19 insurance is no longer a requirement to enter Malaysia
  • Fully vaccinated travellers exempt from taking pre- and post-departure tests
  • No more physical distancing  for business events
  • All economic sectors are allowed to operate

„I would like to thank the Malaysian Government and both the Minister of Tourism and Minister of Health for this fantastic news. This strategic move which is in tandem with practices in many other countries will help in boosting our business events industry and subsequently helps with the recovery of our economy. With fully vaccinated travellers exempted from pre-departure and on-arrival tests as covid-19 insurance is no longer required and no social distancing. This relaxation will benefit business events travellers greatly to a seamless travel experience to Malaysia this will increase registration to their respective events,” says Dato’ Sri Abdul Khani Daud, Chief Executive Officer of MyCEB.
