Connection 2022 will take place at the newly renovated El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico, from April 7-10, where industry leaders and event professionals from around the world will gather to discuss the state of the rebounding meetings, events, and travel industry.
After kicking off the event with an opening reception and dinner celebrating the first in-person Connection since the 2019 event, the conference will get straight to business with an educational session led by Global DMC Partners President and CEO Catherine Chaulet. Chaulet will share key insights on global economic, business and travel trends, such as staffing shortages and sustainability, while zooming in on opportunities for the global MICE industry and providing a future outlook to help meeting and event professionals be better prepared for the year ahead. Over the two main days of the conference, attendees will have the opportunity to learn from peers and discuss timely topics such as international travel, event liability, working with suppliers, staffing challenges, digital/hybrid events and more in breakout sessions and an acclaimed industry expert panel.
During dedicated time for one-on-one appointments, planners will learn about the latest destination updates from a selection of over 40 worldwide DMCs and event sponsors. The event’s other Keynote Speaker, sponsored by Judy Benjamin Curated Events, will be Jade Simmons, a creator of transformational experiences designed to activate audiences into becoming the biggest, boldest version of themselves possible.
Global DMC Partners’ exclusive Puerto Rican-based DMC Partner, Dragonfly Global Destination Services, will organize an array of special evening events and afternoon activities to give attendees the unique opportunity to experience a new side of Puerto Rico. Connection 2022 will also offer opportunities for planners to discover all that Puerto Rico can offer for groups and events and connect outside of the meeting rooms, with optional activities such as morning workouts, snorkeling, sailing, Puerto Rican cooking, a rum mixology experience, ATV adventures, horseback riding, zip-lining and various resort site visits.
