Over the next three days, experts will address current issues in the global tourism industry, including the pandemic and its consequences as well as the challenges posed by geo-political conflicts and crises.

Focus on current topics
The event will kick off with the opening press conference on 8 March at 9 a.m., at which moderator Katie Gallus will welcome guests Martin Ecknig, CEO of Messe Berlin, H.E. Prof. Dr. Levan Izoria, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Germany of this year's Convention & Culture Partner Country Georgia, Peter Kautz, MD Statista Q and Norbert Fiebig in his role as President of the German Travel Association DRV. Subsequently, the three congress days will be primarily dedicated to the topics of resilience and future on Tuesday, digitalisation on Wednesday and sustainability on Thursday. In over one hundred panels, lectures, presentations, exhibitor press conferences and discussions 223 renowned experts and companies will share their assessments of the global challenges facing the travel industry. This year's ITB Minister's Keynote will be held by Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection on 8 March at 11 am.
In the second streaming channel, tourism suppliers can additionally present their content in press conferences and product presentations. The spectrum ranges from destination presentations to expert discussions or award ceremonies.
Partner Destination Georgia
Georgia is this year's Convention & Culture Partner at ITB Berlin and will be presenting itself as an official cultural destination. The ITB Berlin Convention will be opened by Mariam Kvrivishvili, MP, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Georgia, together with David Ruetz, Head of ITB Berlin.
Digital Business Day on 17 March
The three days of the congress will be followed by the Digital Business Day on 17 March. As a networking platform, it offers participants networking opportunities and audio and video meetings, as well as information on global travel trends and forecasts and company news. The format will be complemented by the IPK's World Monitor with global travel trends and forecasts for 2022 as well as company presentations in the on-demand programme.
