Hosted at The Westin Ottawa, the 2026 Triennial World Conference brought together ACWW members from around the world for governance sessions, elections, knowledge exchange and community activities. The programme also included cultural experiences, regional tours, agricultural visits and a gala dinner at the Canadian Museum of History. According to the organisations, the event was shaped through years of collaboration between ACWW, Ottawa Tourism and local partners.

Long-term association partnership supports global conference delivery

The relationship between Ottawa Tourism and ACWW began in 2018 and developed through a series of smaller meetings and engagement activities leading up to the world conference. Both organisations stated that the extended partnership helped align the event with the association’s objectives and member expectations. Founded in 1929, ACWW works with rural women and community organisations worldwide on advocacy, policy development and grassroots initiatives. Ottawa Tourism said the conference highlighted the role of long-term destination partnerships in supporting association congresses focused on legacy, community engagement and international collaboration.
