Porto and Panama City to Host Next ICCA Congresses

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has announced that Porto will host the 2025 ICCA Congress, while Panama City will welcome delegates for the 2026 Congress.

The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) has revealed the locations for its next two Congresses: Porto, Portugal, from November 9-12, 2025, and Panama City, Panama, from November 8-11, 2026.

ICCA CEO Senthil Gopinath expressed excitement about the chosen cities, noting their alignment with ICCA’s goals for the industry. “ICCA is thrilled to head to these world-class cities for the meetings and events industry’s flagship event, two locations that share ICCA’s vision for a dynamic, innovative, and forward-thinking business events industry.” According to a press release, the selection process involves extensive deliberation, with the ICCA Board ultimately choosing cities that not only meet logistical needs but also offer cultural and promotional opportunities for the host city.

Porto, known for its blend of tradition and modernity, will host the 2025 Congress. Luís Pedro Martins, president of the Porto and North of Portugal Convention and Visitors Bureau, highlighted Porto’s world-class venues, vibrant culture, and rich heritage. He emphasized the city’s commitment to excellence and sustainability, predicting that the Congress will provide an unforgettable experience and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Porto and North of Portugal Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Panama City, selected for the 2026 Congress, is recognized for its ambitious strategy to position itself as a premier destination for international meetings. Fernando Fondevila, CEO of PROMTUR Panama, described the ICCA partnership as crucial to Panama’s journey in the business events industry. He noted that hosting the ICCA Congress will mark a significant milestone, reinforcing Panama’s role as a center for socioeconomic opportunities and knowledge exchange in Latin America.

Both cities were chosen for their support of ICCA’s aims. They have developed impressive infrastructure and facilities, promising to enhance the Congress experience for all attendees.
