Following National Apprenticeship Week, RCP London Events welcomes its first AV apprentice, Arron Montgomery, under the new Level 5 Audiovisual Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This two-year programme addresses the long-standing skills gap in the AV sector.

On the stage, there is a long wooden table with several chairs and a podium. A large projection screen in the center displays the "RCP London Events" logo, which is also visible on the walls flanking the stage. The walls are lined with vertical light-wood panels, and professional stage lighting is mounted on a truss system above the stage.

At RCP London Events, a structured apprenticeship framework has been introduced to nurture emerging talent and equip the next generation of AV professionals. Spearheaded by Ben Pain, Head of Audio Visual Resources, this initiative combines hands-on experience with academic study to build a comprehensive foundation in AV technology.

New AV Apprenticeship Addresses Industry Skills Gap

The innovative two-year programme, which began in January 2025, is a collaborative effort between RCP London Events, Middlesbrough College, and top industry employers including Google, the British Museum, Bloomberg, and the National Gallery. With a focus on practical training and advanced technology, the framework provides aspiring AV technicians with the technical knowledge and real-world experience needed to excel in the events industry.
