Opening. The Rimini Fiera group company responsible for the management of Rimini’s new Palacongressi Conference Centre has announced to postpone the venue’s opening. The official inauguration is now scheduled for Saturday, 11 September 2010. As from 14 September, Rimini’s Palacongressi will host an important world conference on biotechnology, IBS 2010, 14th International Biotechnology Symposium and Exhibition. Convention Bureau della Riviera di Rimini Chairrman Mauro Ioli comments, “This decision, taken following an in-depth analytical technical assessment with the construction company, was taken to ensure the utmost secure guarantee of the finishing work before proceeding with the final stages of installing furnishings, fittings and technology, according to the strictest quality and reliability criteria, indispensable for a venue of great prestige, such as the new Palacongressi conference centre”. Ioli adds with reference to IBS 2010: “We are convinced that launching our Conference Centre’s operations with an event of world importance is an excellent auspice for the future. IBS 2010 is the result of positive cooperation activated in our area; the fact that it is being held in Rimini is the result of the knowledge and expertise of authoritative academicians from the University of Bologna involved in the biotechnology research field.”
