Sarawak Business Events Achieve Record Growth in 2024

Sarawak’s business events sector has concluded fiscal year 2024 with notable accomplishments. The state secured 111 events, exceeding its target by 11%. These events are expected to generate an estimated economic impact of RM313.6 million, contributing significantly to the region’s growth. This success reflects the state’s continued focus on securing international events and enhancing its position as a key business events destination in Asia.

Record-Breaking Achievements and International Recognition in 2024

Throughout FY2024, Sarawak achieved a 100% success rate in event bidding, winning major international conferences like the Asian Congress on Occupational Health (2026) and the 15th World Congress and Exhibition on Design and Health (2026). The state hosted 124 events across its cities, generating RM375.2 million in total economic impact. Additionally, Sarawak’s efforts to promote sustainability were recognized with the ‘Best Sustainable Initiative – Destination’ award at the M&C Asia Stella Awards 2024, highlighting its commitment to social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
