Athens-based Sissi Lignou, who was elected President-Elect in 2024, officially takes the helm of the association. Her main responsibilities include ensuring compliance with association statutes, advocating for the global meetings industry, and driving IAPCO’s development.

In her new role, Lignou emphasized her commitment to excellence and collaboration: “I am deeply honored and grateful to take on this pivotal role, continuing to serve our Association with dedication, alongside my fellow Council Members and Administration.”

As part of the transition, former President Sarah Markey-Hamm becomes Immediate Past-President and will chair IAPCO’s Committee of Ethics. The IAPCO Council has been strengthened through the re-election of Nicola Testai (OIC Group, Italy) and Jason Yeh (GIS Group, Taiwan) for another two-year term.

IAPCO CEO Martin Boyle expressed confidence in the appointment: “I have had the privilege of working with Sissi over the past 5 years in her role as IAPCO Council Member as well as whilst she has been President-Elect for the past 12 months and I am certain that her passion and drive for our industry will be of great value to our association.”
