The 2010 David Riddell Memorial Scholarship will support participation in the Site International Conference scheduled 4–7 December 2010 in Cape Town, South Africa. Site membership is not required for scholarship eligibility; applicants must be recommended by the President and/or board of directors of a Site Chapter. Applicants are required to submit a written essay themed around motivational experiences, global connections or the evolution of our industry. Current students or professionals motivational experiences industry or a related field may apply; a financial need must be demonstrated.
The scholarship was created to honor the late David Riddell of Marriott Corporation, a past president of Site and one of Site’s most ardent supporters. The scholarship is intended to provide an opportunity for a worthy individual to participate in Site educational programs — a tribute to Mr. Riddell’s commitment to education. The 2009 recipient of the David Riddell Memorial Scholarship was Vicki Kern of JNR Incorporated. The 2010 recipient can look forward to experiencing education and networking programs while learning what South Africa has to offer the motivational events and travel industry.
