Stadthalle Reutlingen is one of the leading venues in Germany. It is the first nationwide to stage 100 per cent carbon-neutral events with sustainability as a top priority. It is not for nothing that it has once again met all Green Globe criteria for this year’s renewal of its certification and garnered a Gold certificate.

Last March Stadthalle was transformed into a futuristic space for IEEE VR 2018, the conference on virtual reality.  700 scientists from 38 countries had travelled to the city at the gateway to the Swabian Highlands to talk about virtual reality and present their research findings at the five-day event. This was the 25th IEEE VR conference and the second to take place in Germany.

Stadthalle Reutlingen welcomed visitors with a successful concept full of technical highlights: a 10Gb/s data highway for high-speed online conferencing and live streaming, versatile rooms and abundant media technology. Both attendees and organisers gave a very positive verdict on the conference and its venue. Main organiser Prof Betty Mohler was thrilled to announce that the event had set a new record with 700 guests. The next IEEE will take place in Japan in 2019.
