Tsai Ing-wen emphasized that both democracy and conference organisation rely on dialogue and cooperation. She likened conference work to diplomacy, bringing together experts to foster collaboration.

IAPCO’s Role in International Cooperation

Incoming IAPCO President Sissi Lignou noted that over 65% of attendees were first-time visitors to Taiwan, underlining the event’s long-term benefits for the local meetings industry. The Annual Meeting and General Assembly is always hosted by an IAPCO Member, in partnership with the local or national convention bureau or relevant government agency. The 2026 IAPCO Annual Meeting will take place in Athens, Greece.
