The Thailand Innovative Meetings Exchange (TIME) 2024, held recently in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, according to a press release, was a “transformative event” for Thailand’s MICE industry. Hosted by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), it attracted hundreds of local participants and over 50 international buyers and speakers from 14 countries.
TIME 2024 marked a significant shift towards innovation, creativity, partnership, and sustainability in the MICE industry. TCEB’s President, Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya, emphasized the event’s role in enhancing value and competitiveness despite economic challenges. The event focused on business opportunities, industry knowledge, and providing a vibrant platform for Thai MICE entrepreneurs.
The event was structured around three key activities: Knowledge Exchange, Business Exchange, and Experience Exchange. Knowledge Exchange featured high-level discussions and industry trend updates, including sessions on emerging markets and sustainability. Business Exchange facilitated matchmaking between international buyers and Thai companies, fostering dialogue and deal-making. Experience Exchange offered immersive experiences in Chiang Mai, showcasing its cultural and innovative landscape.
Partnerships with associations like PATA and PCMA, along with support from airlines, hotels, and venues, were crucial to the event’s success. TIME 2024 generated 64 anticipated events, projected to bring 36,199 MICE visitors and THB 2,389.13 million in revenue to Thailand. The event reportedly set a new standard for the industry, emphasizing meaningful exchanges, groundbreaking ideas, and sustainable practices. Plans for TIME 2025 are underway.
